My Bio
I'm a Houston-based artist that has a BA in creative writing and a BFA in painting with a minor in art history from the University of Houston.

My work is mostly based in surrealism, but also deals with fantasy and psychological elements. My love of fantasy and surrealism derives from my love of Frank Frazetta and Salvador Dali’s works. I usually works in acrylics, but I do stray time-to-time into watercolors, oils, pastels, ink and scratchboard as well as silk-screening more recently.

Hi All. Trying to be more active and post some of the pieces I have finished. Also doing Inktober this year and to make it harder I'm only allowing myself 1hr or less for each drawing. Should be posting on here as I go and on instagram.

Starting up a new piece soon. It's from a story I was working on that a few of my pieces are from. (Guilt, Oracle, Intentions, Leap) Been doing the contests that have been springing up in the meantime. I must say that I rather enjoy the contests, despite the lack of sleep and social interaction, because I know now that I still have it! In school I could stay up for hours and paint, never resting until a piece was finished. Since I graduated, sleep would win over or I would find an excuse to walk away when I was frustrated instead of plowing straight on. Apparently, all I needed was a deadline. A REAL one. Not one thought up by me or a family

Yay, Change (previously called "old vs new") is finally done! Started the painting over 2 years ago in class, never finished it to my professor's disappointment. Then didn't touch it for 2 years. After I graduated, I still ignored it for a while. Then a few months back I started working on it more and now it's done! It's funny. I can't even begin to imagine how this piece would have turned out if I had finished it back in school. It probably wouldn't have come out as ambitious as it is now. Also, I have noticed that I don't think of my own boundaries when I start a painting. It doesn't matter if I have never painting this animal, or done arch
